Send a letter to the Editor of your local paper
GET WRITING! If you see an article or opinion piece in the media that promotes abortion, distorts the facts or misrepresents the pro-life cause, make it your business to write a letter.
Quick tips: Be clear and concise; short letters are best, back up your assertions. There's a wealth of information on this site and on www.youthdefence.ie so use their search facilities if you need additional information.
DON'T FORGET: to put your name, address and a contact phone number on the end of the letter. They won't print your phone number but they also won't print your letter if you don't give them a phone number with which they can verify your letter if they wish to do so. Although letters are sometimes printed without a phone call, they are very rarely printed unless the phone number is provided.
It's also a good idea to write a letter of support for pro-life organisations if they are reported in a deliberately negative light.
We've listed the email contacts for every 'letters to the editor' page in the Irish newspapers below. Just pick the papers you want to write to and press the WRITE button and an email will open with the editor's addresses in your BCC. You'll also get a copy to your own email.
