There are 2 By-Elections being held on the same day - Longford Westmeath to fill the seat after the death of Nicky McFadden and Dublin West.
The main parties are running one apiece, and there are five independents running.
For the main parties, the candidates are Aengus O’Rourke (Athlone), Fianna Fáil; Gabrielle McFadden (Athlone), Fine Gael; Denis Leonard (Kinnegad), Labour; and Paul Hogan (Athlone), Sinn Féin.

We asked Independent, Fianna Fáil, Direct Democracy and Green candidates ONLY if they supported the statement you can see below. The other political parties voted for the abortion act last year which legalised abortion through all nine months of pregnancy. We have printed the replies we got from the candidates we asked and who replied to this question
